Initially he used to switch off the fan only in mornings…i thought it was to wake me up…now he switches off the fan whenever… Is it because he feels cold or could there be something else?

It can be because of boredom as well.
What you can do is stick a tape on it so that he can’t turn it off, and see how it behaves when he can’t.
