My dog doesn't like to walk during rainy season when the road becomes wet

Is there any connection of Rainy season and dogs? during rainy season my dog doesn’t like to walk when the road is wet. He will walk eventually but he doesn’t seem excited about it. I have noticed this similar behavior with few other known dogs too. How can we tackle this and improve this situation?

This is a natural behavior and nothing to worried about.

The paws of dogs are very sensitive and they are very particular about not wetting them because from an evolutionary point of view wetness brings diseases to their paws, so the sensitive dogs avoid getting their paws wet.

Thank you for clearing the confusion

My dog doesn’t walk even when the road is mildly wet.( no water stagnation) even the road has sufficient dry space he just stands there . So today I was trying to get him do his morning business and too community puppies came to play with him, once he saw them he wanted to play with them and the wet road doesn’t seem to be a problem then

I let him play a bit, he was sniffing them and suddenly decided to pee on a puppy. Needless to stay both the puppy and I were shocked :joy:
Why does he wanna pee on the puppy?

Because play is more rewarding than the walk, it overpowers the fear of getting paws wet. Dogs :man_facepalming:

He was claiming him or he got so excited that he forgot to pee and then he couldn’t control it.
